The article «Transparency as a Driver for Logistical Efficiency in WEEE Collection and Transport» has been published.

John Baxter, in collaboration with Professor Eirill Bø of BI Norwegian Business School, has published the article «Transparency as a Driver for Logistical Efficiency in WEEE Collection and Transport» in the journal Logistics. The paper builds on previous work on the effectiveness of complex reverse-logistical operations. This paper addresses the relationships between key stakeholders – the procurers and deliverers of waste collection and transport operations.

The work shows that transparent, collaborative relationships with understanding and expertise shared between actors are clearly preferable to the arms-length and adversarial relationships typical of the sector. Via observations, interviews and cost analysis, the study highlights the increased efficiency and reduced costs that arise from transparency. The paper stemmed from previous work and was completed as background to the current Innovativ avfallslogistikk project. The paper is available open-access and can be found here.
