Nortura has commissioned NORSUS to carry out a life cycle analysis (LCA) of Norwegian production of meat and eggs. LCA is a method for quantifying the environmental impacts of a product system. The data is based on 2021 and calculated for 1 kg carcass, 1 kg consumer product, 1 kg edible meat and 1 kg protein from beef from dairy cattle, beef from beef cattle, mutton and lamb, pork, turkey, chicken, and similarly for egg. The environmental impact of meat and egg produced in Norway is based on average production levels in Norway.
