The role of R&I in ensuring a safe and sustainable supply of Critical Raw Materials in the EU

NORSUS is a member of the ETAG consortium (European Technology Assessment Group), led by Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), that recently won a tender bid to the European Parliament’s STOA panel (Panel for the Future of Science and Technology). The project will advise the European Parliament on The role of R&I in ensuring a safe and sustainable supply of Critical Raw Materials in the EU. The project group is led by Fraunhofer ISI, and consists also of the Austrian Academy of Sciences Institute of Technology Assessment (ITA).

The project will build on the new European Critical Raw Materials Act and will assess different policy options related to research and innovation to support the implementation of the Act.

The report from the project will be presented to the European Parliament in the beginning of July this year.
