The centre will develop research-based solutions and help the industry to develop sustainable innovations for the global market, including:
- • Development of new types of plastics (polymers for fibre to twines, nets and ropes etc.)
- Test strength, durability and degradation of new materials
- Thorough testing on vessels and fish farms to clarify the strength, durability and degradability of biodegradable gear.
- Analyse motivation and effect of incentives to use new materials in the seafood industry.
- Test and analyse the recyclability of materials for the fishing industry.
- Dissemination of results to make it easier for business actors to use biodegradable materials.
