Norwegian representatives in IEA Bioenergy Task 37 Energy from biogas

Kari-Anne Lyng from NORSUS participates as the Norwegian representative in International Energy Agency (IEA) Task 37 Energy from biogas in the period 2020-2021.

Task 37 is an international group working for dissemination of knowledge regarding biogas across the member states. I the period 2019-2021 the following topics are prioritised:

  1. Energy Systems: Biomethane as a transport fuel/Technical requirements for integration of biogas systems into the energy system.
  2. Sustainability and Environment: Green gas certification & sustainability criteria/Good Management Practice of the anaerobic digestion facility.
  3. Integration of anaerobic digestion into processes: Integration of anaerobic digestion into agricultural sector/Increasing the range of feedstocks for anaerobic digestion/Integration of anaerobic digestion into biorefineries

IEA Bioenergy Task 37 develops technical reports about different topics related to biogas, presents case stories for inspiration, and collates statistics and information about biogas and production and use of biogas in each member state.

The Norwegian participation in IEA Bioenergy Task 37 is financed by Enova and by the members of the Norwegian reference group: Greve Biogass, Biokraft Skogn, Biogass Oslofjord, VEAS, NIBIO and Innovation Norway. Read mor about IEA Bioenergy Task 37.
