Keynote on Reuse in LCA and Presentations at the Waste LCA Conference

4th Conference on Life Cycle Assessment of Waste

Last week, three researchers from NORSUS participated in the 4th conference on Life Cycle Assessment of Waste.

Head of research Kari-Anne Lyng delivered a keynote presentation on Reuse in LCA.

Additionally, NORSUS researchers presented the following talks and posters:

  • Reusable Fast Fashion, Do or Don’t? by Pieter Callewaert, based on work from the project See my used dress
  • Bridging the Product Level with the Overall System Level in LCA by Simon Saxegård.
  • Circular Economy or a Drop in the Ocean: Environmental Impacts of Biogas Production from Fish Sludge by Kari-Anne Lyng, based on work from the research project Circulizer

The conference, held biennially, gathers researchers performing life cycle assessment of waste systems. NORSUS researchers found it inspiring to meet peers working with similar issues in other countries. "It is interesting to see that plastic pollution is high on the agenda and that many are focusing on sensitivity and uncertainty analyses," summarizes Simon Saxegård. "Additionally, there were several exciting discussions on prospective LCA, which involves modelling future waste systems," says Pieter Callewaert.
